This is the drinking age in France... 16 years old!
I always wonderd when they can legaly drink... since wine is one of important culture here.
I havent seen anyone getting carded at bars in Paris.
In News paper (in Japanese :) There was an article about young age drinking...

In past 3 years, the % of alcoholism of young children age 15-24 is more than 50%!!!
Starting in 2009, drinking age will get bumped up to 18years old (Still young?!)
Bars will need to start carding to people if they are not sure about age...
If bar offers alcohol to younger than 18 old, 7500€fee and sentenced about 1year will be given.
