Mont St-Michel--DOL

Mont Saint Michel!!!!! One of the really really historical place in France. Where is MSM...?? It is located west part of France (Normandy). About 3-4hours away from Paris by train. Getting there is not so easy... However, we did it by ourselves! Did not take bus tour :) Bit of adventure, but totally worth it!!!!

MSN's construction started back in 10th century...!!! Very very long time ago... They have built a church on top of the island... then little by little the village were established, by 17-18th century... Pretty crazy history. Since it is an island, when there are high tide (new moon/ full moon), this island/church/village is rounded by ocean... Wow!!!

We walked and walked.... As soon as we go to the entrance of village, already hills... and stairs going up to the church... There were so many back allies and more stairs too... Whole island/village is a huge maize!
We kept going up on the hills... and stairs... walk walk walk walk... kept walking...! Such a pretty walk though :)

Without audio guided tour, we were still able to find out so much about history and etcs... had great time visiting this church!!!

For that day, high tide was around 1pm, however, this time ocean did not reach to MSM. So we were able to walk on the beach around the island :)
Breath was so nice... so refreshing... weather holded up ok... (until we left)... just perfect day to walk around and enjoy the place...

Time went pretty quickly. Walked around the island for long time, but all in different ways! There were so many passages... goes around the island... We had very good time there :) If we visited there with a bus tour, it would been 5hours car ride, few hours at MSM, drive back to Paris on same day... but, since we took train, and found nice B&B just outside of the place, we had nice and relaxing time... in country side of France :) Nice to be away from all noise and people... once in every while... :) Following day, we visited an old medieval city, DOL, before we came back to Paris... :) Post will be followed soon...
